PURPOSE:To provide a color ink jet printer which can realize its miniaturization and low cost. CONSTITUTION:A color ink jet printer is equipped with one pressure generation part 12, a printing head 11, and a printing head moving mechanism 13. The pressure generation part 12 and the printing head moving mechanism 13 are mounted on a carriage. A set of a pressure chamber 15 corresponding to the pressure generation part 12, a nozzle 14 connecting with the pressure chamber 15, and an ink feed system which feeds ink to the pressure chamber 15 is disposed in one direction in an array by a number of colors. The printing head 11 is supported in a freely reciprocative manner in one direction with the pressure generation part 12. The printing head moving mechanism 11 positions the printing head 11 respectively at the position wherein the pressure chamber 15 of each set is pressurized with the pressure generation part 12. |
