PURPOSE:To permit to adjust a clearance between a casing and a valve body by a method wherein the rotating surface of the rotary valve body and the inner wall surface of the valve casing are opposed mutually with tapers with respect to the axial direction of rotation of the rotary valve body. CONSTITUTION:A rotating surface 21 of a rotary valve body 2 and a inner wall surface 18 of cavity of a valve casing 1, which is opposed to the rotating surface 21, are tapered with respect to the axial line of rotation of the rotary valve body 2. The right end of an adjusting nut 20 is abutted against the outer end face of the inner race of a bearing 31 and the valve body 2 is permitted to adjust by moving it into the axial direction thereof by rotating the adjusting nut 20. When the tapered surfaces are worn out and the adjustment of the clearance has become necessary, the adjusting nut 20 is rotated to move the rotary valve body 2 into the axial direction thereof and the clearance may be adjusted to obtain the optimum value. |
