A method for indicating on a synchronal channel if there is any space-time block coding in main common control channel by a base station is disclosed in present invention, by way of phase modulating primary and secondary synchronal channel, wherein: when modulating primary and secondary synchronal channel with in-phase or opposite phase, a base station indicates on the synchronal channel that space-time block-based coding for transmission diversity is used on main common control channel; when modulating primary and secondary synchronal channel with opposite phase or in-phase, a base station indicates on the synchronal channel that no space-time block-based coding for transmission diversity is used on a main common control channel. The present invention is simple and reliable, capable of improving cell search efficiency and simplifying system complexity.
