PURPOSE: A drum brake makes the whole of a brake shoe rub against a drum with even pressure when parking brake is activated so as to improve brake force. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake device comprises a pivot lever(80) and a strut(90). The pivot lever(80) has one end(81) connected to the other end of an adjust(50) and the central part installed to the central part of a web(32) of a leading shoe(30L) rotatably by axis. The strut(90) has one end(91) connected to the other end(82) of the pivot lever(80) and the other end(92) connected to the lower end of a web(32) of a trailing shoe(30T) to transmit the reaction force of the pivot lever(80) to the trailing shoe(30T). As a driver pulls a parking brake lever, the adjust(50) is pushed to the left direction to rotate the pivot lever(80) clockwise so that the counter force of the pivot lever(80) is transmitted to the lower end part of the trailing shoe(30T) via the strut(90).
