PURPOSE: A method for testing the failure of a switching station is provided to enable the state of the station to be tested every time desired by a manager, by allowing the station to receive the reflection sound of a transmitted signaling sound, and thereby outputting a test result according to the received reflection sound and a signal transmission state. CONSTITUTION: When a man machine processor receives a continuity check massage, and then reports the reception of the message to the first trunk call processing block(200). This block asks the output of a continuity signaling sound to the first peripheral processor(PP)(210). The first PP sends a continuity check tone request(CCR) to the second trunk call processing block(220). The first PP outputs a signaling sound to the second PP, and then the second PP sends the sound received from the first PP back to the first PP(230). The first PP reports a failure test result to the first trunk call processing block(240). The first trunk call processing block sends the failure test result received to the second trunk call processing block and the man machine processor(250,260).
