METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SIMULATING CHARACTERISTICS OF HYDRAULIC TORQUE CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To very accurately simulate the characteristics of a hydraulic torque converter and to determine the optimum shape of a practical torque converter in a short time. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of parameters including a passage angle and passage resistance are found from a blade profile of an impeller of a hydraulic torque converter. In simulating the characteristics of the torque converter from the relation of input and output torques on the basis of the paramaters and the theory of angular momentum, the passage angle is modified by using a value modified by a function of a slip factor.
