A process for the production of thermoplastic polymer blends from polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyester and/or vinyl polymer, comprises taking at least one of the thermoplastic components direct from primary production in the molten state and compounding it with the other (optionally premelted) blend components. A process for the production of thermoplastic polymer blends (I) from polycarbonate, thermoplastic polyester and/or vinyl polymers and optionally other additives, comprises (a) taking at least one of the thermoplastic components direct from primary production in the molten state; (b) optionally melting the other blend components; (c) adding the other components to the polymer melt (a); (d) mixing all components in a mixing section; and (e) cooling and optionally granulating the melt. An Independent claim is also included for a system for the production of (I), comprising a polycarbonate (PC) production unit (1) from which PC is taken off in the molten state, an extruder (5) for melting the other blend components, a mixer (3), a device for granulating the blend (6), and pipelines connecting the various units.
