PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing capable of making generation of resonance and destruction difficult by suppressing a vibration generated in a rotary shaft, even by using a lubricating liquid of low viscosity. SOLUTION: This fluid bearing is characterized by (A) This bearing comprises a plurality of flexible pad parts 4a arranged so as to hold a fixed space 4 relating to a rotary shaft 100, dashpot 4f formed in a back surface of each flexible pad parts 4a, and a pressure wall part 4b having a dashpot hole 4c connecting the space 4h and a dashpot pocket 4p. (B) One end of the flexible pad part 4a is formed as a fixed end connected to a casing 4g, also the other end serves as a free end. (C) The pressure wall part 4b is arranged so as to protrude between fixed/free ends of adjacent each flexible pad part 4a. (D) The flexible pad part 4a generates deflection by a differential pressure between the space 4h and the dashpot pocket 4o generated by the dashpot 4f.
