PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic device with simple structure at a low cost capable of preventing the generation of surge pressure while restricting the waste of the energy. SOLUTION: When the real pressure showed by the signal from a pressure sensor 28 exceeds the maximum set pressure, a surge pressure control unit 32 of a controller 27 outputs the control signal for reversely rotating a switched reluctance motor 22 to an inverter 26. The switched reluctance motor 22 and a fixed capacity type hydraulic pump 21 are reversely rotated, and the fixed capacity type hydraulic pump 21 sucks the operating oil from a discharge line 24, and discharges the operating oil to a tank 23. Since the operating oil is forcibly discharged from the discharge line 24 by the reverse rotation of the fixed capacity type hydraulic pump 21, the generation of large serge pressure can be previously prevented with the simple structure at a low cost.
