PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for erecting a pile, by which excavation works are facilitated and pile length is shortened and the workability and profitability of the pile can be improved, and the pile used for the method. SOLUTION: The pile 20 having external wings 22 having an approximately spiral blade shape on an external side face is excavation-pressed into a ground 10 by rotation in the screwing-forwarding direction, and peripheral soil in the pile is compressed by the screwing-retracting working of the external wings 22 by reversely rotating the pile 20 at an approximately fixed position. The compressed peripheral soil is land-formed as a film bearing body 15 by compressing peripheral soil in the pile by utilizing the screwing-retracting working of the external wings 22.
