PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee guard structure providing an air bag with stable operation by preventing the impact from a knee guard generated by the secondary collision with a passenger from directly transmitted to a steering support beam and by separating it from a steering mechanism. SOLUTION: This knee guard structure is characterized in that a knee guard 1 is arranged between a stay 34 and a front pillar inner 2 uprightly installed on a floor panel 8 downward a steering support beam 7, and the stay 4 and the front pillar inner 2 attaching the knee guard thereto are not directly connected to and separated from the steering support beam 7, so that the steering support beam 7 separated from the knee guard 1 which is deformed and moved by the impact of the secondary collision with a passenger is prevented from deformed so as to eliminate any possibility of deviating in the bag developing direction in operation an air bag. This constitution can eliminate any dispersion of damage values of the passengers and accurately tune the safety factor of the air bag.
