PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the compatibility of run-flat traveling performance and riding comfort heretofore impossible only with the improvement of a conventional tire in an assembly of a tire and a disc wheel using a side reinforced type run-flat tire. SOLUTION: In this assembly of a pneumatic radial tire and a disc wheel, the pneumatic radial tire is provided with a carcass comprising at least one carcass ply folded around a pair of bead cores and extended in toroidal shape, a tread disposed at the crown part of the carcass, a belt comprising at least one steel cord belt ply arranged between the tread and the carcass, and a pair of side walls arranged around the tread; and the disc wheel is provided with a disc rigidly fixed to an axle hub, and a rim for supporting the pneumatic radial tire. In this case, the side walls are reinforced with rubber reinforcing layers 7, and cushioning members 14 are provided at least partially between the disc and the rim.
