PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sash window in which heat insulation properties can be set at multistages and cost corresponding to properties can be obtained while the heat insulation properties of the existing sash window can also be changed easily. SOLUTION: The sash window is constituted in such a manner that a window frame 2 for a general sash, a window frame 1 for a heat insulating sash, movable fitting sections 5, 6 for the general sashes and the movable fitting section 7 for the heat insulating sash are prepared and the combination of the window frames and the movable fitting sections is selected in response to environment at the position of the installation of the sash window. A plurality of kinds of the sash windows in which heat insulation properties differ little by little can be constituted by selecting sash window frame 1, 2 and each movable fitting section 5-7 in response to environment at the position of the installation of the sash window, and the optimum sash window in conformity with the location area and environment of the building, the position of the installation of the window or the like can be set.
