PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low noise ink jet printer for register in which receipt print information can be printed with high image quality at a high speed. SOLUTION: A continuous sheet, i.e., a receipt sheet 110, is set to be carried in the carrying (Xr) direction and an ink jet print head 40 is loaded at a print position P1 in the carrying direction reciprocally in the direction orthogonal to the Xr direction. While moving the ink jet print head 40 in the orthogonal direction, ink dots corresponding to receipt print information are jetted onto the receipt sheet 110 to form the receipt sheet print information printably. A miss ink absorbing section (29HH) extending in the orthogonal direction is provided at the print position P1 below the receipt sheet 110 when it is set.
