PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process for display glass substrate that can effectively and inexpensively remove the reducing hetero layer formed on the surface of the glass substrate produced by the float process and provide the display glass substrate produced by this process. SOLUTION: The bath 1 is filled with hydrofluoric acid etching solution 2 and a plurality of glass substrates 3 produced by the float process are soaked in the bath, as they are made upright whereby the reducing hetero layer (including tin) formed on the surface of the glass substrate 3 is removed by the etching.
