PURPOSE: A method for automatically searching an error of an component in an automatic test apparatus is provided to automatically search the error to components in a module in which a failure is generated. CONSTITUTION: A computer diagnoses normality or abnormality from a state signal according to an operation of a diagnosis object module(202). If an error is sensed, the computer displays a failure estimate component in the diagnosis object module and checks whether a failure searching menu is selected(204-206). If the failure searching mode is selected, the computer displays a test point to the failure estimate component and searches normality or abnormality of the failure estimate component(208-214). If an error is sensed, the computer displays an error message for requesting the replacement to a corresponding component(216).
