PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the problem of friction resistance in a suction roller for sucking and carrying a web material such as paper or plastic film. SOLUTION: A pair of first seal member 3 is arranged with a space in the circumferential direction of an outer cylinder 1, and a pair of second seal member 4 is arranged with a space in the axial direction of the outer cylinder 1. Between the first seal members 3, a vacuum chamber 5 is formed between the second seal members 4 between the first seal members 3, and the suction port 2 of the outer cylinder 1 is evacuated by the vacuum chamber 5 to suck a web material to the outer surface of the outer cylinder 1.
