PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hitting device which can get in/out of the dropping passage of compression packing device for old newspaper, magazine, corrugated fiberboard, etc. SOLUTION: At a suitable place of a wall board forming a drop passage, an inlet/outlet opening is formed. A mount is paced at the outside of the wall board, and on its top face, a slide frame mounting a motor is provided so as to move to the opening freely reciprocally. On the front face of the slide frame, a rotary axis frame is attached integrally, and on the rotary axis frame, a rotary axis provided with a hitting lever is held with bearings. The rotary axis provided with the hitting lever and the slide frame motor are fitted interlockingly. The rotary axis frame is moved into the drop passage from the inlet/outlet opening with the forward movement of the slide frame and the rotary axis provided with the hitting lever is provided so as to get in/out freely in the drop passage.
