PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for preparing trans-4-(4'- hydroxycyclohexyl)cyclohexanone ketals important as a raw material for a medicine, an agrochemical, an industrial product or a polymer. SOLUTION: This method for preparing trans-4-(4'-hydroxycyclohexyl) cyclohexanone ketals represented by the general formula (II) comprises reacting trans-4-(4'-hydroxycyclohexyl)cyclohexanol with an alkylene glycol having a 2-6C linear or branched alkylene group.
