PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a firing tool material which hardly reacts with an object to be fired and has a lighter weight and also to provide a production process of the firing tool material. SOLUTION: This firing tool material 1 has a base material 2 which is made of a refractory material and has a >=20% porosity, an intermediate coating layer 3 with which a part or the whole of the surface of the base material 2 is coated and which has a 72-85 wt.% Al2O3 content and consists essentially of mullite and a surface coating layer 4 with which the surface of the intermediate layer 3 is coated and which consists essentially of ZrO2 or a zirconate. Also, a production process of the firing tool material is also provided. |
