PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a rubber-modified styrenic polymer, capable of conducting control of grafting reaction of a rubbery polymer with a styrenic monomer in a wide range so as to furnish the resulting polymer with a high graft percentage which improves physical characteristics, especially impact resistance and surface gloss, of the polymer, while the above characteristics are difficult to be achieved by conventional methods. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the rubber-modified styrenic polymer comprises dissolving the rubbery polymer in the styrenic monomer, then polymerizing the above polymerizable mixture in the presence of an organic peroxide as a polymerization initiator, wherein the organic peroxide has a half-life temperature of 35-85 deg.C measured under a condition that the peroxide is decomposed in benzene solution for 10 hr. The resulting polymer has the high graft percentage.
