PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency engine starting device of a cargo handling vehicle to start an engine in an emergency. SOLUTION: This emergency engine starting device is provided with switches (3)and (4) corresponding to bypass switches of a circuit (an a-contact of an E/G stop relay) to be actuated by an abnormality of a traveling device or a cargo handling gear of the cargo handling vehicle, and switches (2) and (5)to implement the function of an engine key switch 2, and by operating these switches (3), (4), (2) and (5), an engine starter motor 4 can be started even when an abnormality occurs in the traveling device or the cargo handling gear of the cargo handling vehicle in an emergency, or when an abnormality occurs in the key switch 2. In this constitution, the engine can be started in an emergency by operating the switches (3), (4), (2) and (5), and the traveling by the normal traveling device of the cargo handling vehicle or the cargo handling work by the normal cargo handling device can be implemented.
