PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a condensed type porphyrine bonded by 2 to 4 meso-βdirect bonds. SOLUTION: This porphyrine (condensed) compound comprises 2-4 NiII-, PdII- or CuII-porphyrine each directly bonding (condensing) by a carbon atom on the meso position and a carbon on theβposition of a porphyrine of the one side with a carbon atom on the meso position and a carbon on theβposition of a porphyrine of the other side, the porphyrine compound includes a metal free porphyrine obtained by removing metal from the prescribed condensed porphyrine and a porphyrine substituting the metals Ni, Pd, or Cu of the prescribed porphyrine with the other metal.
