PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce external input during the travel of a vehicle by developing a drive mechanism utilizing deformation and reaction successively generated to the ground plane of a wheel during the travel of the vehicle, as a power source. SOLUTION: In a proposed method, displacement (b) toward an axle 5 successively generated in the grounding part of a flexible tire 2 consequent to the travel of a vehicle is inputted, converted into rotational force in the same direction as the rotating direction of a wheel and used as auxiliary power for the travel of the vehicle. This method is based on purely mechanical constitution, but a method of substituting oil pressure for the displacement of an element equivalent to a contact shoe 6, and driving it by a hydraulic motor, and further a method of substituting an electric current for the displacement using a piezoelectric element or the like and driving it by an electric motor are considered as other means for solution.
