PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the winding process of a strip regardless of the material of a pipe-like body forming a winding core. SOLUTION: In this winding device for winding a strip on a core by rotating the core, this device comprises a means for forming a self-winding end on the end of the strip and a means for nipping the self-winding end between the strip and the core. The self-winding end formed on the strip is nipped between the strip and the core, whereby the strip is wound so as not to loosing from the core.
