PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chassis of a rail-traveling vehicle capable of large loading without increasing the self-weight of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This chassis for a rail-traveling vehicle, in particular, for a railroad crane to carry a freely handling cargo is provided with a plurality of sets of curve traveling wheels stored in a rotary truck, i.e., a rotary boggy which is supported by one or a plurality of chassis and rolls on traveling rails. In order to reduce the load on the sets of wheels 2-5, at least one support wheel set 7 comprising two support wheels 7a is provided, the support wheel set 7 is fixed to the vehicle in an elevating/lowering manner, and the support wheels 7a of the support wheel set 7 can be lowered from the standstill position above the rails 13 to the working position at which each support wheel 7a is placed on the track of the rails 13 by the adjustable pressure.
