PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a label printer in which a plurality of bar codes of different colors are printed while being superposed and then identified before a corresponding processing is executed. SOLUTION: Bar codes are printed with magenta, cyan and yellow, respectively, in first, second and third processes while being superposed. Image of the color bar code printed while superposing bar codes of different colors is then picked up and the image data of a bar code comprising the color component of magenta is extracted from image data corresponding to the image thus picked up and corresponding processing is executed. Similarly, the image data of a bar code comprising the color component of cyan is extracted and corresponding processing is executed and then the image data of a bar code comprising the color component of yellow is extracted and corresponding processing is executed.
