PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a treatment surface activated in a short treatment time while generating no damage on the surface of a base material and maintaining high surface accuracy in performing surface treatment on a seal surface to make metal surfaces abut on each other. SOLUTION: In performing surface treatment on a smooth surface such as a seal surface of a member subjected to fluid seal by a process of making metal surfaces abut on each other, the surface is washed with a solvent. Then, it is scrubbed by a sponge-like grinding wheel or stone softer than the material to be treated. It is thus possible to have an activated surface with high suface accuracy in a short scrubbing time for eliminating the oxidated skin film thereof without damaging the base material. |
