PLASTIC FUEL TANK AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To mold a fuel tank not generating the leakage of fuel and excellent in heat insulating properties by injecting a resin into a mold to impregnate a fiber material with the resin and prescribing the interior of a tank by a support to cure the resin. CONSTITUTION: The wall surface 16 of a fuel tank is prescribed by an inner liner 12 and a fiber material impregnated with a resin. The fiber material impregnated with the resin prescribes the size of the tank wall surface 16 and the liner 12 covers the inner surface of the resin impregnated fiber material. The pipeline 18 communicating with the interior 20 of the tank is formed so as to be extended and a metal filler 22 can be attached to the leading end of the pipeline 18. Since the pipeline 18 is integrated with the one-piece structure of the tank 10, a bonding line is not present on the tank wall surface 16 and the pipeline 18 is continuously extended to be integrally formed to the tank wall surface 16. Therefore, the bonding line required when an injection neck part is connected to the tank wall surface 16 is avoided and the structural integrality of the tank 10 is enhanced.
