PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building not increased in cost even if a support layer is located in a deep position nor causing a problem such as floating and negative friction according to ground subsidence. SOLUTION: In a building having a column 3 directly raised on a ground improved body 2 formed in a mat by improving the surface layer of the ground, this building comprises a pedestal 3a provided in the state protruding sideward from the column 3, a flange part 6 making contact with the upper surface 2a of the ground improved body 2, and a buried part 7 constituting the lower end 3b of the column 3 and buried in the ground improved body 2.
