PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a di(meth)acrylic acid ester with a high purity at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the di(meth)acrylic acid comprises conducting transesterification reaction of a 1-4C alkyl (meth)acrylate with a 1,n-diol (n is 3 or more) in the presence of a metal compound as a catalyst, wherein a zirconium chelate compound is used as the catalyst together with a 1,3-dicarbonyl compound, then the catalyst is precipitated by the use of phosphoric acid and separated after the reaction is completed.
