摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance damping force when a piston of a hydraulic shock absorber enters an upper area or a lower area of a stroke more than an ordinary area of the stroke. SOLUTION: A piston valve PV (a base valve BV) stores discs 105, 113 opposed to leaf valves and valve springs 4, 12 for energizing these discs to the leaf valve side from a back face by loosely inserting the inner peripheral side (the outer peripheral side of 114, 115) of the leaf valves 106, 107 into an outside surface (an inside surface of a cylinder 21) of a valve stopper 2, and is constituted by placing detecting springs 102, 109 on upper surfaces of caps by allowing lower end parts of the caps 103, 111 vertically movably loosely inserted into an outside surface (the inside surface of the cylinder) of the valve stopper to abut to outside edge parts of the leaf valves to increase extension side (pressure side) damping force by operating a push down load so as to push back inside edge parts of the leaf valves to the disc side with seat surfaces 8A, 16A being a support diameter of deflection of the leaf valves as a fulcrum in an upper area Su (a lower area Sd) of a stroke for generating the push down load when the detecting springs are compressed by abutting to a rod guide 24 (a piston 8).
