PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of promoting the starting timing of fuel supply when an engine grows to be cold. SOLUTION: A fuel pump is composed of a pump plunger capable of reciprocating in a plunger hole by the action of a cam driving device. The cam driving device is composed of first/second surfaces for defining a chamber 28 between these surfaces, and an interval between the first/second surfaces is controlled so that capacity of the chamber can control the shaft directional length of the cam driving device. The first surface is defined by a tappet member 22 for transmitting force to the pump plunger from the cam driving device, and the second surface is defined by a piston member slidable in a tappet hole formed in the tapped member. This device is used in the fuel pump composed of the tappet member 22 arranged in a housing for transmitting force to the pump plunger from the pump plunger and the driving device and capable of concentrating in the other hole 23.
