PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve various problems that occur when manufacturing a plain roof tile with ceramics having an underlap and an overlap because of a difficulty which occurs due to shrinkage when drying and baking clay in case of ceramics thereby sometimes making it difficult to complete tile laying brought into contact with each other and especially large dimensions make the use of the tile difficult and lower the efficiency of roof tile laying work thereby necessitating accurate finishing in width direction in mm unit since the conventional plain roof tile laying with an underlap and an overlap is able to provide end faces brought into contact with each other which is desirable in resistance to wind, resistance to rain water and appearance. SOLUTION: In the plain roof tile 1 provided with an underlap 2 and an overlap 3, the free end side of the overlap is extended and an overlap extension 300 is created, and the overlap extension is laid by overlapping on the underlap of other adjacent plain roof tile having the same configuration and then the overlap extension can be laid by overlapping the tile end edge 4' at the underlap side of other plain roof tile 1'. Even through there is an error in dimensional accuracy in the width direction of the plain roof tile, the tile laying not showing the gap is possible and also the function or the like of the plain roof tile can be secured. Thus, various troubles during roof tile laying can be avoided.
