MATERIAL FOR PURIFICATION OF WASTE GAS AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a material for purification of exhaust gas capable of efficient removal of NOx from waste combustion gas contg. NOx and oxygen exceeding the theoretical amt. of oxygen reacting with unburned components such as CO, hydrogen and hydrocarbon. CONSTITUTION:This material for purification.of waste gas consists of a 1st catalyst obtd. by carrying 0.2-20wt.% (expressed in terms of element) silver or silver oxide as active seed on a porous inorg. oxide and a 2nd catalyst obtd. by carrying 1-50wt.% (expressed in terms of oxide) oxide of W and/or V as active seed on a porous inorg. oxide. An oxygen-contg. org. compd. is added to waste gas and NOx in the gas is reduced with this material.
