The invention relates to a process for producing grain-oriented electric steel sheet having a final thickness in the range from 0.1 to 0.5 mm. The invention is characterised in that initially a hot-rolled strip of a steel having the composition according to Claim 1 is hot-rolled, subsequently annealed, if desired, and cold-rolled in at least two stages with interannealing of the strip before the last cold-rolling stage at a temperature in the range from 800 to 1100 DEG C for 30 to 600 seconds and with accelerated cooling from the interannealing temperature at a rate greater than 50 K/second. After a temper-annealing treatment before the last cold-rolling stage, in which a thickness reduction of 40 to 80 % is carried out, recrystallising annealing takes place in a moist atmosphere with simultaneous decarburisation of the strip cold-rolled to the final thickness. High-temperature annealing takes place after a separating agent has been applied to the strip surfaces. |
