PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material by using a diazaphthalide compound having excellent characterlstics required as a colorant for recording material, such as whiteness of first coat, shelf stability of first coat and picture image fastness. CONSTITUTION:This recoding material contains 3,3-bis(4-diethylamino-2- methylphenyl)-4,7-diazaphthalide having crystal structure, especially the first crystal of 3,3-bis(4-diethylamino-2-methylphenyl)-4,7-diazaphthalide characterized by X-ray diffraction diagram showing a distinctive peak at a specific diffraction angle in powder X-ray diffraction method especially by Cu-Kalpha ray and the second crystal of 3,3-bis(4-diethylamino-2-methylphenyl)-4,7-diazaphthalide characterized by X-ray diffraction diagram showing a distinctive peak at another specific diffraction angle in powder X-ray diffraction method especially by Cu-Kalpha ray. Or a recording material contains these crystals as an electron donative colorant. |
