PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular electric heating element for heating a cylindrical component capable of being simply manufactured in as small size as possible and simply replacing a thermocouple. SOLUTION: The tubular electric heating element comprises an inner tube made of a metal, an electric heater 2 spirally provided on the tube 1, a tubular sheath 4 made of a special steel and a thermocouple provided in a protective tube 7 and associated with the heater. In this case, the tube 1 has longitudinal slits 8. The tube 7 is inserted into the slit 8, fixedly held at its position, and a thermocouple or a metal wire 5 of the completed thermocouple is movably provided in the tube 7 so that a measuring point 6 can be positioned before an arbitrary position of the tube 7 or an opening of the tube 7.
