PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed a gel substance to a dissolving tank no to make an error in the information processing of various kinds of gelatinized gel substances such as emulsion pigments, by using a pot container attached with an ID unit. SOLUTION: An automatic feeder for a gel substance in a pot container comprises a bucket-shaped pot container 10 having a circular cross section for accommodating a gel substance, a pot container heating means 50 for preheating the pot container 10, a cutting blade 61 for cutting and peeling the gel substance in the pot container 10, a clamping means 64 for fixing the pot container 10, a cutting blade inserting means 62 for inserting the cutting blade 61 into the pot container 10 concentrically and cutting the gel substance, a cutting blade rotating and peeling means 63 for rotating the inserted cutting blade 61 after the insertion to peel the gel substance from the inner surface of the pot container 10, a means for making the cutting blade inserting means 62 recede after the finish of rotating and peeling the gel substance by the cutting blade rotating and peeling means 63 to pull out the cutting blade 61 from the pot container 10, and a feeding means 95 for feeding the gel substance to a dissolving tank 90 from the pot container 10 after pulling out the cutting blade 10.
