PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair fixing apparatus for automatically fixing a wheelchair to the floor surface of a vehicle by button operation with seldom spending labor. SOLUTION: A motor 8 is operated by operating an operation device 19 to rotate a screw shaft 11 to move the screw metal fitting 13 threaded with the screw shaft 11. The screw metal fitting 13 is moved to pull a wire 15 to erect an engaging arm 4 and an engaging part 5 is moved downward after the erection of the engaging arm 4. The engaging arm 4 opens an on-off door 6 during erection to hold the same to an open state in an erected state. When the engaging part is moved downward, the engaging part 5 is strongly engaged with the lower frame 2a of a wheelchair 2 to firmly fix the wheelchair 2 to the floor surface 1a of a vehicle such as a wagon vehicle 1. The fixing of the wheelchair is released by the reverse process.
