PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulverizing apparatus which improves crushing efficiency and enables pulverization of a material, the material hardly crushed by an impact, in particular. SOLUTION: This pulverizing apparatus is equipped with a tubular main body 38 having a plurality of fixed edges 49 formed on the inner surface and a rotary cylinder 39 having a cylindrical surface 47 corresponding to the inner surface of the tubular main body 38, having a plurality of rotary edges 48 on the cylindrical surface 47 and rotating around a prescribed axis 44 of rotation inside the tubular main body 38, and the opposite ends of the axis 44 of rotation of the rotary cylinder 39 are supported by support parts respectively. The parts of engagement of the rotary edges 48 with the fixed edges 49 are enlarged in area by providing the rotary edges 48 in large numbers. Thus the frequency of being subjected to a shear force is improved and crushing efficiency can be improved. The axial run-out of the rotary edges 48 can be prevented and a clearance between the fixed edges 49 and the rotary edges 48 can be set to be small. Therefore a soft urethane foam hardly crushed by an impact can be pulverized.
