PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a floor mat for a vehicle, provided with optical fibers, reduced in manufacturing man-hours, automated and suitable for mass production. SOLUTION: In arranging optical fibers 7 on fabric of a mat body 1 and then cutting the fabric in specified shape to form the mat bodies 1, the optical fibers 7 are cut together with the fabric. The optical fibers 7 are cut simultaneously with cutting to form the raw cloth in specified shape, and the cut ends 7S can be made the light receiving parts of the optical fibers 7. Since the cut ends 7S of the optical fibers 7 are positioned at the cut faces of the mat bodies 1, the cut ends 7S of the optical fibers 7 can be pulled outside afterward to facilitate optical fiber pull-out work.
