PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of ensuring the safety of an operator in a jarn treatment without causing a reduction in productivity in the even of a jam. SOLUTION: In a printer 1 as image forming device, a device body 101 removably contains a feed tray 22, and a cover 30 as an opening and closing member forming a part of a facing material supported by the device body 101 switches the printer 1 to operative state and non-operative state by a safety device interlocked therewith, so that a part of the feed tray 22 is interfered with the cover 30 laid in a closed state in the removal of the fed tray 22, but not interfered therewith when the safety device retains the printer 1 in a non-operative state in the state where the cover 30 is opened.
