PURPOSE: A method for processing a hand-off of a mobile communication system is provided to shorten a real hand-off process time by assigning a soft hand-off as if a CCP(Call Control Processor) receives a PSMM(Pilot Strength Measurement Message) from a terminal just after a hard hand-off between intra cell frequencies. CONSTITUTION: A CCP receives a PSMM, stores the received PSMM, and judges whether a hand-off between frequencies is performed(S1-S3). If the hand-off between frequencies is not performed, a soft or softer hand-off is performed, and if the hand-off between frequencies is performed, an intra cell hard hand-off assignment is performed(S4,S5). It is judged whether the hand-off is successful(S6). If the hand-off is successful, the soft hand-off assignment is performed(S6,S7).
