The present invention provides high density, non-volatile memory devices incorporating sandwich coordination compounds. Such molecules can have multiple different and distinguishable oxidation states (e.g., ten different and distinguishable oxidation states), and thus provide molecules, information storage media and apparatus that store multiple bits of information.
