摘要 PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to separate and remove bottom dross formed inside a hot dip galvanizing bath by electromagnetic force generated by DC magnetic field and DC current. CONSTITUTION: In a continuous hot dip galvanizing process of a strip, the apparatus for removing bottom dross in a hot dip galvanizing bath using electromagnetic force comprises a passage(11) which is formed at one side of the galvanizing bath(1) so that molten zinc passes through the passage(11); electrodes(12) and a power supply unit(13) which are installed at the passage(11) so that the electrodes(12) apply current in a length direction of the passage(11), and the power supply unit(13) supplies power supply to the electrodes(12); a magnet(14) which is installed at the outer side of the passage(11) between the electrodes(12) so that the magnet(14) settles down dross(9) by applying electromagnetic body force due to magnetic field in an upper direction; and a dross separation plate(15) which is installed in the rear of the passage(11) strayed from the electrodes(12) to separate the passage(11) into upper and lower parts so as to separate the passage(11) into a lower passage connected to a dross collection tank(16) and an upper passage(17) connected to a clean molten zinc collection tank(18).
