PURPOSE:To provide a system for the production of high-purity hydrogen, having excellent hydrogen production efficiency and heat-transmission efficiency and capable of reducing the hydrogen production cost by installing a hydrocarbon source, a water source, an oxygen source, an evaporation chamber and a reforming chamber in a specific manner. CONSTITUTION:This high-purity hydrogen production system is provided with a hydrocarbon source, a water source, an oxygen source, an evaporation chamber and a reforming chamber containing a steam-reforming and partial oxidization reaction catalyst and a hydrogen separation membrane. The hydrocarbon source, the water source and the oxygen source are connected to the evaporation chamber and the evaporation chamber is connected to the reforming chamber to enable the transmission of heat. The hydrogen production system produces high-purity hydrogen by reforming a hydrocarbon and/or a hydrocarbon containing oxygen atom and separating hydrogen from the produced hydrogen-containing gas. The partial oxidization reaction is used in combination with the combustion of non-permeated gas in the system to supply the heat necessary for the reforming reaction and decrease the amount of hydrogen in the non-permeated gas. |
