PURPOSE: An apparatus for converting clamping mode of front and rear parts of a material to be processed in a tension threading system on a hot rolling traveling stand is provided to improve traveling stability by traveling the material in the state that tension is given to the front and rear parts of the material by a tension threading system using the buckle principle. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for converting clamping mode of front and rear parts of a material to be processed in a tension threading system on a hot rolling traveling stand is characterized in that a material front locking inclined female groove(43a) with an upward inclination and a material rear locking inclined female groove(43b) with a downward inclination to a proceeding direction of a rolling plate(13) are formed at an upper clamp(42) which is fixed to a truck and positioned at the upper part of the rolling plate(13), and a lower clamp(44) fixed to the truck has a flat upper surface positioned at the lower side of the rolling plate(13) so that a driving roll(41) for applying buckle force to the material front locking inclined female groove(43a) is mounted onto the flat upper surface in case of applying tension to the front part of the rolling plate(13) while a driving roll(41) for applying buckle force to the material rear locking inclined female groove(43b) is mounted onto the flat upper surface in case of applying tension to the rear part of the rolling plate(13).
