PURPOSE: To improve the adhesive properties of a subbing layer by forming a polyolefin-coated substrate or a polyolefin substrate having the subbing layer and a dye image receiving layer in that order on the surface and adding the reaction product of a mixture of an aminofunctional organo-oxysilane and a hydrophobic organo-oxysilane to the subbing layer. CONSTITUTION: This dye receiving element for thermal dye transfer contains a polyolefin-coated substrate or a polyolefin substrate having a subbing layer and a dye image receiving layer formed in that order on the surface and the subbing layer contains a reaction product of a mixture of a) an aminofunctional organo-oxysilane and b) a hydrophobic organo-oxysilane. When the ratio of the contents of these two silanes is 3:1-1:3, the satisfactory results can be obtained. When the density of the subbing layer is generally about 0.005-0.5 g per 1 m<2> element, preferably about 0.05-0.3 g in terms of coat build-up, the satisfactory results can be obtained. Consequently, it is possible to improve the adhesive properties of the subbing layer. |
