PURPOSE: A method for controlling position of the rear part of a strip by measuring a pressure of a unit roll is provided which detects the rear part of the strip using variation of pressure measured at the unit roll after completing coiling of the strip. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling position of the rear part of a strip by measuring a pressure of a unit roll comprises the steps of fixing slackness of the rear part of the strip by approaching the unit roll to the side of a mandrel around which the strip is coiled, and detecting an actual pressure applied to the mandrel by the unit roll(10); slowly rotating the mandrel(20); detecting a measured pressure applied to the mandrel by the unit roll when the rear part of the strip passes through the unit roll as the mandrel is being rotated(30); judging whether the measured pressure is detected to be 95% or less of the actual pressure, and performing the measuring work again if the judgement result is "No", or proceeding the next step if the judgement result is "Yes"(40); rotating the mandrel two times if the thickness of the strip is 5.0 mm or more, or rotating the mandrel one time if the thickness of the strip is 5.0 mm or less after checking whether a thickness of the strip is more than 5.0 mm or not(62); and calculating a time required for revolving the mandrel one time, and stopping the mandrel at a time corresponding to a half of the calculated value(70,80).
